  •  10 May 2022 - 15 May 2022
     10:00 am - 3:00 pm

Our world is changing – but we have the knowledge today to create the Melbourne of tomorrow. Through seven days of interactive events, workshops, dinners, and performances, Narrm Ngarrgu, Melbourne Knowledge Week will explore the exciting opportunities, tackle the urgent challenges, and share skills to help shape the future of Melbourne and #KNOWNEXTNOW.

FLEET will have an exhibit at Wesley Place – Prototype Street all week, demonstrating science concepts used in FLEET research. Visit The Science Behind Novel Electronics for more details.

Sustainable computers

Did you know that computer systems use about 8% of all energy consumed globally, and that this figure is doubling every 10 years?

How can new technologies use less energy to produce more results?

Come glimpse the research behind novel electronics – new and future devices that use experimental technology. FLEET, the ARC Centre of Excellence in Future Low-Energy Electronics Technologies, is at the forefront of new scientific fields. Hear about FLEET’s research into topology, new technologies, novel electronics, 2D materials, ultra-cold atoms and ultra-fast atoms. But don’t just listen, experience a levitating superconductor and other physics fun while learning about the future of low-energy electronics.
