A/Prof Sudha Mokkapati has expertise in growth and optoelectronic characterisation of semiconductor nanostructures and nanofabrication. Her current work is focussed on CVD growth of layered semiconductors and their applications in sensing. Within FLEET, she was involved in growth of novel layered material, Field-effect transistor-based biosensors and optoelectronics. She’s investigating heterostructures of layered materials to control the electronic properties of the materials to make them better suited for the sensing applications. She aims to address the issues of integration of efficient light emitters on Si and lack of reliable p-doping approaches for III-N materials by integrating layered materials with Si and III-Ns through van der Waals bonding.
