Samuel Wilkinson was a research fellow at RMIT, working under Prof Jared Cole on the theory of superconducting circuits, particularly Josephson junction arrays. His research interests also include topological insulators and quantum gravity. Within FLEET’s Research theme 1, Samuel used Josephson junction arrays as a model system for studying transport phenomena relevant for low-dimensional nano-structures. He also investigated possible applications of topological insulators in practical devices, and the role that noise plays in limiting the effectiveness of these devices.
