Since 2014, Prof Pu Yu has led the cross-correlated interface research unit at RIKEN Center of Emergent Matter Science. At Tsinghua University since 2013 his research interests lie in emergent phenomena at the interface of correlated electron systems. As a FLEET PI, Prof Yu’s expertise in complex oxides complemented FLEET efforts to use complex oxides as platforms for topological devices, through introduction of ferromagnetism to other 2D materials, through patterning of charge in ferroelectrics, and potentially by realising new topological states in oxides or oxide interfaces.
