Jiali (Jenny) Zeng was a PhD student working with Prof Nagarajan Valanoor at UNSW on thin films, multiferroics and complex oxides within FLEET’s Research theme 1: topological materials and Enabling technology A: Atomically-thin materials. Jiali used ion irradiation of multilayered oxide heterostructures to seek topological properties caused by the large spin-orbit coupling inherent in bismuth-based materials.
