Chief Investigator, ANU, an LGBTIQ Ally
Prof Elena Ostrovskaya (ANU) is an internationally recognised researcher in theoretical physics of atomic Bose-Einstein condensates with a strong track record of collaboration with experimental groups.
At FLEET, Elena led Research Theme 2, directing a program of both theory and state-of-the art experiments on exciton and exciton-polariton systems with large binding energy, providing a unique solid-state platform for studies of excitonic and polaritonic Bose-Einstein condensation, superfluidity, and topologically protected transport at temperatures approaching and exceeding room temperatures.
Elena served as FLEET’s first Chair of the Equity and Diversity Committee, leading the development of the successful Women in FLEET Fellowship program. FLEET Executive Committee 2017-2024.
