Prof.
Alex Hamilton
Deputy Director, UNSW
Prof Alex Hamilton (UNSW) has contributed significantly to the understanding of electronic conduction in two-dimensional and nanoscale transistors, and is a leading expert on the study of holes in semiconductor nanostructures. His work has been recognised through two Australian scientific prizes, an Australian Professorial Fellowship, an ARC Outstanding Researcher Award, a UNSW Scientia Professorship and election as a Fellow of the American Physical Society.
Alex was FLEET’s Deputy Director, led the Centre’s Research Theme 1 (directing the program on artificially engineered topological materials) and also worked with FLEET Research Theme 2 to realise bilayer exciton transistors at room temperature and within Enabling technology B. Alex was FLEET’s node leader at UNSW FLEET Node. FLEET Executive Committee 2017-2024.
